Mining and running a node on the same machine?
It's not really recommended, but if you got enough CPU power it should be fine. (Just make sure to limit the amount of mining threads)
> solo mining ofc, NEVER pool…
You should checkout P2Pool, it's basically all the perks of solo mining (Your own node is used, no centralized pool) but you get the perks of mining in a "pool". im to retarded to understand the technical details, but since everyone uses their own node on P2Pool, a 51% attack is impossible. The entire Monero network could mine on P2Pool and an attack wouldnt be possible. Its so fucking cool.

There is a 10 percent spread between XMR on kyc markets and XMR on Haveno.

Are there any monerochads in the land who want to pull an arbitrage of the Soros kind?

and..can someone repost this on plebbit.. just go get better eyeballs on the logic?

What do you use to run your own nodes? Would buying one of those low power pcs with a big ass drive be a good idea for running a node 24/7?

> How many CPU cores/ RAM/ Storage space does it have?
The ones I was interested on average had 2C/4T. 4GBs of ram and 128GBs of storage but both of those things could be upgraded, at least the drive for fitting the whole blockchain.
> Also what is your internet speed, and are you able to port forward on your router?
300MB/s, yes
> Lastly, are you going to be using Windows or Linux?
Linux is the only choice.

> 2C/4T. 4GBs of ram and 128GBs of storage
that should be fine for a monero node if youre running a lightweight linux distro. However youll be very tight on space. Pruned blockchain takes up ~80-90 GB. Full node is about ~200 GB.

> 300MB/s, yes

based, thats more than enough speed so youll be good. And youll want to port forward ports 18080 TCP and 18081 TCP. You can change the ports in the config file if need be.

> Linux is the only choice.

so fucking based. i tried using Alpine as a distro at first but i kept getting a segmentation fault when running ./monerod so i switched to debain. any distro should be fine though.
> id recommend reading up on monero nodes and stuff just you have a general idea on how to set on up, i can drop my config file if youd like

Chainanal, the company that works with alphabet boys on tracking crypto, released a video where they claim to be able to "trace" xmr
>https://archive.org/details/chainalysis_XMR
One thing of note to remember is that chainanal and abc agencies apparently run their own nodes. A lot of the shortcomings used by them while trying to track transactions wont be available with new updates to Monero.
